Rappel Tour

The Company in San Juan del Sur for a Rappel Tour is:

Aracne Rappel

Rappel is a specialized mountaineering technique that allows you to do a controlled descent down a rope on vertical faces, like a cliff or wall, through a device that provides friction. Also known as Abseiling, Rappelling is the most used vertical descending technique and it is used worldwide for rescue by fireighters, special forces and police, also in construction in high buildings and for mountaineering.

How you do it?

The climbing rope is anchored to a cliff with artificial anchors like cams, pitons, and bolts or natural anchors like trees and boulders. The climber then uses a rappel device which utilizes the friction of the rope through the device to control his descent as he literally slides down the fixed rope to a ledge or the cliff-base.

The Tour

Hiking, History and Nature

The tour starts with a 30-minute hike to the cliffs on the south side of the San Juan del Sur bay, including a visit to the ruins of an old fort and amazing views of the coastline. You will also learn some of the rich history of San Juan del Sur and Nicaragua.

Extreme Rappel

Once you put on the rappelling gear and listen to the guides’ instructions, the descent starts on a 30-meter inclined wall where you will get used to the equipment and the technique of rappelling. Then the wall turns into a 70-meter vertical drop, finishing on the rock outcropping at sea level.

Swim and Boat Cruise

After taking off the gear, you put on a life vest and jump into the ocean for a refreshing swim to the boat, which will take you on a relaxing ride around the bay while enjoying a cold drink.
