Avainca TACA – “Discover Central America” Airline Promotion

Central America is determined to increase its tourism visitors in their own countries and therefore today launched the campaign “Discover Central” offering discounts on airfares, accommodation and tours for its own inhabitants.

In order to mobilize at least 10,000 American tourists to countries within the region, the campaign will be valid from tomorrow until May 31, detailed the Avianca Taca commercial manager in Costa Rica, Monica Velasquez, at a press conference.

During these weeks, the airline will offer tickets from and to any Central American country with prices starting from $ 269. This is the second year that the region makes this campaign and, according to the marketing manager of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), Ireth Rodriguez, experience in 2012 was very positive.

Last year, according to Rodriguez, the same campaign managed to mobilize 8,000 American tourists, 3,300 of whom visited Costa Rica.

“Discover Central America” ​​is an advertising campaign across the region that aims to encourage American to not only visit your neighbors for business, but for pleasure. According to Velázquez, Central America last year received 7.9 million tourists, of which 3.5 million were other Central, showing the great importance of developing the domestic market.

In total, between the private sector and tourism ministries of each country, this campaign will have an investment of $ 200,000 in advertising. Avianca Taca promised to have an offer of 22,000 seats during the promotion, while participating hotels will offer discounts of between 30% and 40%.
